Who Are We
Saveur de L'Ouest is table d’hôtes & restaurant in Flic en Flac, Mauritius specialising in authentic Mauritian & Creole cuisine.
Our Story
Serving authenthic Mauritian food experiences since 2020
Our story began in 2020, when founder Nathalie Gauthier, inspired by her passion for Mauritian creole cuisine, decided to bring the flavours of Mauritius to the people of Flic en Flac. With a vision to share her freshly prepared, locally inspired dishes, she created a warm, welcoming table d’hôtes called 'Saveur Faire' — a name that highlighted Nathalie’s savoir faire and her love for the island’s rich food culture.
The small and intimate restaurant concept quickly gained popularity across the west coast, from Rivière Noire & Tamarin to Cascavelle & Albion, leading to a rebrand as Saveur de L'Ouest in 2024.
To further elevate the dining experience, Nathalie welcomed French chef Arthur Linder to her team the same year. Together, they’ve crafted a menu that celebrates the multicultural flavours of the island, with an emphasis on locally sourced produce and an exquisite selection of fish and seafood.
The restaurant's rustic roots decor blends the raw charm and greenery of Mauritius with upcycled touches to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. One where food is served in a family ambiance with a laid-back approach.
At Saveur de L'Ouest, we invite you to come and taste the authentic flavours of Mauritius. Experience island life, one bite at a time.
